Whenever I search in explorer and open a folder that has a mpeg file in it, my resolution changes to 800x600 with lower color quality. It also happens whenever a program tells me to browse for a file and I browse to a file or folder that is mpeg even though I don't try to run it or open it.

I think it is a softwaare thing but I can't figure it out. It never bothered me too much but now I am trying to do video editing and it is real annoying to say the least.
