Video replay issue

I am having problems with replaying vidoes. I haven't been keeping track of file types, so I may go back and do that.

I am primarily playing avi files. I have not changed/upgraded players or codecs in awhile, but the videos I am playing used to play fine. Now I am getting large green pixels and severe refresh delays. This happens to videos regardless of location as well (CD, DVD, Internal HD, or external HD)
I re-installed Nimo's codec pack 5 (build 8) and that hasn't had an effect.

My main player is Winamp 5.02, but I have also tried using WMP9.

Any thoughts??

Yes get rid of nimo's codec pack and all other codec's used to play divx or xvid files... use koepi's binary codec from http://files.divx-digest.com/software/codec/XviD-1.0.3-20122004.exe.. it has a xvid and divx decoder in it.. As for your problem it seems you are trying to play the newer xvid files i take it? as this tends to be a problems when using older codec's trying to decode newer builds

Although I still don't understand why the old videos didn't play right with the old codecs when they originally did.

Well, in any case, everything is good now.
