Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a rather curious problem with my system. For example, when I load into Unreal Tournament, although it will run very happily and sweetly (mmm...fps , every time I try to switch resolution (ie from 640x480 to 1024x768) it will reboot the system (instantly). I am using up-to-date VIA drivers, Detonator drivers, DX8.0a etc. under Win2K Pro. Windows itself is happy to change resolution and bitrates in the Display Properties. This problem occurs under DirectX and OpenGL in Unreal Tournament, and also occurs under Black+White (DirectX) so I'm really confused as to what exactly is going on.
I belive that this is not a hardware problem because this fault did not occur under WinME, and I haven't done any (hardware) configuration changes since then. It may have somehting to do with the installation of the Win2K Compatability Updates (although why I can't imagine) or the installation of SP2.
If anybody could throw some light on this, I would be very greatful. The only thing I could think of is that i'm not using a bang-up-to-date BIOS, although I am using one that allows you to disable/enable the fan alarm thingy, so it's not ancient
Sorry about the rantings.
