Okay...I'm using a Gainward Geforce 2 Pro on my machine running Win2K Professional. System is stable except for when I turn on Direct 3D-supported games. For example, if I turn on anything OTHER than software rendering when playing Diablo II, the system locks up after a while (I can still hear the music, incidentally) and will not respond to ctrl-alt-delete or anything else - my only recourse is to reboot by hitting the reset switch. The problem disappears when I turn on software rendering, however. Unreal Tournament does the same thing, only quicker. In UT it takes anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes to lock up. I've tried installing the Latest 21.83 drivers from the nVidia website, and even tried the drivers from Gainward's website as well. Neither has solved the problem. The problem clearly isn't heat-related or power-related, either. At my wit's end. Any suggestions?
