I have a SFF/HT PC I built about a month ago to use in the living room for movies and things, but I didn't get a video capture card at the time, because of price (I didn't want a real cheap one).

So now I am back in the hunt for a good card that is <$150 or so.

I liked one from ATi (Theater 650 Pro, I think) when I was looking last, and it was selling for about $120. It had live free-air TV recording and pausing, with an HD-TV chip in it so I can get an HD antenna to hook up to it, and a couple of other nice recording features.

If ya'll have any suggestions, or would like to share your experiences on what is good and what is bad, I could use all the help I can get!

Thanks! :)

I've been using a pair of Hauppauge PVR-150s (~$75 last I checked, at least for the bare version with no software) in my HTPC for a while.

They work well (assuming you want to record to MPEG2), and have pretty broad software support. They are also use a hardware encoder chip, so CPU usage is low while recording. No HD capability, though.
