Video Qulity over HDMI

I want to use my TV as a monitor. My connection options are a standard DB15 PC connection or HDMI.

I would think that HDMI would give better video quality. Assuming I get a video card with HDMI is that the best way to go? Or am I better off using DB15?
 
it probably depends on the TV. i've seen some who claim VGA looks better than hdmi for their xbox, havn't seen much about PC's.

shouldn't matter what card you buy, if it's got DVI out, it will come with a VGA adapter. you can then pick up a DVI-HDMI cable off monoprice.com and try both.
 
HDMI/DVI is always going to be better.

VGA uses an analog signal that can degrade and pick up noise along the way. It also has a problem where the signals are out of phase with the receiver.
 
Agreed, digital connections (HDMI and DVI) will have better overall quality compared to analog (DB15/VGA/D-sub).

At least for the Samsung T260HD, I've heard people having issues connecting their 360 to the T260HD using HDMI because Samsung didn't design the monitor to work with PC type devices. I'm not sure if that's the case with other monitors though.
