Video problems

Hello. I have a Radeon 9700 Built by ATI card and a 17'' LCD Monitor. Whenever I play graphics intensive games (like Splinter Cell adn NFS: Underground), there comes a point in the game where the monitor just shuts off. The computer is still running because I can still hear the game sounds, but the monitor cannot find a connection to the computer. It is either a video card or monitor problem, in my opinion. Has anyone else experienced this? I have all the updated drivers.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Apparently it worked.

Your Welcome!

I had the same thing happen to me; had both harddrives and my vid card on the same power splitter Y coming from the PS.

When stuff got all intense, my monitor would shut off but my computer would stay on.

Sounds good, my rig is just about the same.

If you didn't have the power, the system wouldn't boot.

Did you try my ideas, simple troubleshooting might save a heck load of time and money.
