I just built a p3 533 with a soyo sy-6vba133 mb with a 16mb voodoo3 1000 agp video card. After I shutdown the and turn the power back on the video doesnt seem to work anymore. I get a "no signal" message on my monitor. If I hold on the reset button for awhile and let go the video comes back on. Or if I unplug all the power and video cables out and put them back the video card works again. What could be the problem? I don't think its the video card because it was working fine in my other system.

first before i try and diagnose this situation
are you sure it is a v3 1k
cuz i am pretty sure that the 1Ks are v2s altho i am not possitive maybe i heard somewhere that there was a v3 1k OEM part or something like that
cuz it is important that i know whether or not it is a v2 or v3

also can you tell if windows is loading when you have no video
also another thing is are you sure it is the system and not maybe a bad monitor cable (you can test this by either trying a diff monitor or taking your computer somewhere else and trying it w/ theirs)

well this was my attempt at helping

i'll check back

It is a voodoo3 1000. I bought it a Fry's in oem packaging. It was cheap thats all I can say. I already tried it out with a couple of monitors, so thats not the problem. I am not sure if windows is loading while the display is off. Sounds like it but not sure.

if you get the no signal message on your monitor that means that the monitor cord is not plugged into anything at all and since we know it is you card might be defective.

(i take it you hvae the same problem w/ the other monitors too?)
