Alright, here's the problem. I just upgraded my system (Intel E6400, Asus DH Deluxe, Corsair TWIN2X, Sapphire Radeon X1600XT), and there was no problems except that I forgot to re-install Windows XP Professional. I did that later, and everything worked. For half an hour.
I left the computer for dinner, for about 30-45 minutes. When I came back, the screen was in stand-by mode (the LED was orange instead of green. I think it's stand-by mode). I had no idea what was wrong, seeing as that if there ever was any error message, I'd have missed it.
Ther first thing I did was reboot the system. No luck. Then I shut down both the monitor and the computer, and started them again. Didn't work either. I didn't think it was anything wrong with the monitor, I've had it for several years now, but I tested it anyway, on my old system. It worked fine. I even tried the DVI connector, using an VGA>DVI adapter. It didn't work.
After that, I reset the CMOS. Nah, as expected, it wouldn't work. I've double checked all cables, but there was nothing wrong with that either, seeing as it worked fine the first half hour. I've totally run out of ideas now. I'll try to test the system outside the case later today, if it was caused by short circuiting, but that's very farfetched. In the worst case, I'll have to send it back in for test, but I'd rather not, seeing as that'd take weeks.
So. I'd like some help on this one. There seems to be nothing wrong with the PSU or power management either, because the fan on the GPU is spinning and so is every other component. It's a new Tagan 2Power 480W too, so it can't be because of that. Anyway, I'll be glad for any help I recieve. 🙂
