Video problem

I had a 3dfx video card and replaced it with the Geforce4 TI 4200. Now my aquarium screensaver turns the screen black and I have to restart the computer. I also found a windows update for this card but it would not install. All I did was swap out video cards, install the latest driver and then remove the old driver. All help would be appreciated.
 
ummmm, uninstall the old driver FIRST then install the new card and the new driver.


1. Uninstall old driver

2. Shut down and remove old card

3. Install new card

4. Install new driver.


 
After proper removal/installation of the drivers, I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the screensaver (if possible), or change it to another and test the new screensaver, then reset it back to the original screensaver.
 
I tried that and it still locks up the computer. I tried the screensaver before reinstalling the video driver and it works although not very smoothly. As soon as I load the drivert and try the screensaver, it locks up the computer.
