Video problem with diabloII expansion pack???

I just bought D2 exp. pack and was happily starting a new career as an assassin when a was met with this problem: The game would hang after 3-4 minutes of gameplay! It seems to be a video problem, as the soundtrack goes on playing... Anybody has heard of this/experienced the same thing???

I use T-bird 1.33, win 98SE, SB live, Asus 8200 and MSI K7 master. All the drivers are up to date. Even downloaded via's 4-in-1 latest drivers and reinstalled my AGP miniport drivers. My rig run a bit hot (57-8 c at full load for both the main cpu and the video cpu) could that be the problem?

I have experience some lock ups before, but much less since the 4-in-1 via drivers where re-installed. But with D2, its EVERY time!

Try turning down your SBLive hardware accleration 2 notches.. that should help a bit.

How do I do that and how would it help since the music just goes on playind after the lockup??

I think you can do it in dxdiag. Just type dxdiag in the run thing.
