This is a very minor problem but I would like to get this resolved. I just bought a new motherboard & cpu this weekend. I finally got everything up and running. I reformatted my HDD, reinstalled windows XP pro, a fresh batch of the Catalyst 3.5. Everything is running smooth except for one little problem. Every so often the screen will go black for a couple of seconds then it will resume like nothing happened. It happens randomly not sure why, It didn't happen before when I had my old motherboard. My radeon is not overclocked at the moment but my PC is, but it still had this problem before I overclocked it. Anyone help me out?
TIA

My System Specs

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Barton 2500+ @ 2217
Radeon 9700np
1024mb Crucial PC2700

might be soemthing with teh vid card or the monitor, maybe it misses some refreshing cycles. cause CRT;s(if thats what you have) go picture, black, picture, black etc... maybe it misses some pictures

that used to happen to me when i had my cpu at 200fsb, but didnt happen otherwise so it was the overclocking. maybe thats the problem in your case too..

Hmm i doubt it .... i have the same problem too
i have asus kt33 with AIW 7500 before, and it was fine
then i replace it with a 8500 then the screen goes black and frezz my computer
and somehow it lead to the death of my mb , so i warranty claim a 8500 , then bought a cheap ECS 7s5a pro motherboard, and now when i try to play games, the screen goes black then back, then black sometime and goes back ... dunno why, tried everything u can think of .. changing driver and all that craps .. no advils.. but neway plug back 7500, and everything is fine again.. so wtf .. . im using an LCD so im not sure if that's problem.. maybe is the video card ? or video card is not comptabile with mb ? crap dunno..
