Hi all,

I have been having a problem lately (ever since my last reformatt about 3 weeks ago). About once a day my monitor will turn stop recieving a signal for a few seconds, then it will come back for a few seconds, go out, go on, etc. This goes on for a bit untill it either a) freezes, b) goes off and doesn't come back on or c) the computer goes to 16 colors and 640 x 480 resolution and says "device failure." All three require a reboot.

Anyone know what could be the deal here?

Thanks for any responses

My computer specs:

Athlon T-Bird 1.33ghz
Geforce 3 w/latest nvidia reference drivers (41.xx I believe)
MSI K7 Master Motherboard
Hercules Game Theatre XP
Windows XP Pro w/all updates.

I would first remove the drivers. Then I would pull the card out and reseat it. I would then reinstall the drivers. Actually I would probably reinstall the drivers for the chipset too.

Yes, check out the driver issue.

If you're overclocking your video card, this can cause it too. Try lowering the overclock speed of your video card.

Nope, no overclocking.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them out :)
