I was just wondering because I currently have my GTA VC setting so that it's 16X anisotropic and 2XT3 anti aliasing, high performance textures and it looks great. Just wanted to see what people's opinion's of these type of settings were.
 
From low vs high mip map there is a lot of difference.
And after seeing UT2004 vs Half Life 2 in terms of textures, I would say high quality (size) textures mean very little.
HL2 in many cases looks like ass, while UT2004 (with the same size textures, AFAIK) looks a considerable amount better. Depends on how you define high quality though. I would guess most people (myself) think you mean bigger, which usually HQ does.
