First off, I am a complete Apple Novice.

I have 9 short video clips that I would like to playback in a specific order as part of a video presentation at work. I was able to add the video files to iTunes and create the Playlist there. Everything works peachy on the PC. I synced the iPad to the PC and the video files are there but there is no playlist. I and about 3 others (including iPhone users) have been searching for the better part of an hour and have had no luck in finding the playlist or creating a new one on the iPad.

Is Apple really this short-sighted that this is not possible?
Is there a workaround or app or something for this?
Should I just get the OfficeMax card from the Office Manager and get a Samsung Galaxy Tab instead?

Welcome to a LOCKED DOWN device. That's two words I would not mix together: iTunes and Work.

One suggestion via Google:

--------------

If you change your video media kind to TV Shows, you can then add them to a seperate playlist in iTunes, then sync them to your iPad and they will then auto play on your iPad.

You could concatenate all the videos into one large video. You wouldnt need to worry about order then. You can do this without any transcoding, by using something like MP4Joiner.

I had thought about that but the video is made up of 8-10 segments about individual products and the content would change from time to time. I finally just coughed up $3 and bought an app that let's me do it.

Now, if only I could put a shortcut on the home screen for the playlist.

Apps are so amazing, you should totally have to pay out money for an app (that will probably break or completely change for no reason in an update, have malware, or sell your information) to do something that the software could easily do!

It's why I hate these mobile platforms as it's like they decided it's better to remove most functionality, and then add it back slowly bit by bit over time, and in the meantime you'll have to sort through the ad-infested junk apps that some person made in an evening to have the functionality in the short term.

And that's why Apple is worse if you often don't even have the option of being able to get an app that can integrate something simple you have to use an app for the entire functionality (so you'd have to use a separate media player app just to get the functionality of the playlist).

I really don't know how people put up with the platforms before the last like 2-3 years, as it's only now that I think they've actually manged to reach a base level that's functional enough.

"iOS apps are always better..."

...until you need to actually do something a specific way.
