Just changed from XP to Vista and having trouble getting my setup how I want it. The basics are as follows. . .

Dual monitor setup, 22" LCD (main screen) via DVI, LCD-TV (2nd screen) with its own speakers via HDMI (Radeon 4670). I play videos fullscreen on the 2nd monitor, and used to have Media Player 11 (under XP) outputting sound via the HDMI on my graphics card, so that the sound for what I'm watching comes from the TV, and all other system sound comes through the normal sound card.

This used to work under XP - Media Player was set to use the HDMI sound output device by default and the setting was limited to Media Player itself. When I try this under Vista the same option in Media Player seems to just change Window's default sound device - so while I can get video playing and sound coming from the TV, any other sounds also come from the TV, which isn't what I want.

Can anyone suggest some video player software that will let me get set up the way I want? I tried Winamp, and while I could set the sound device how I wanted, fullscreen video performance is shockingly bad. I tried VLC, but couldn't get it into fullscreen mode on the 2nd monitor.
