Video playback program - why windows media player sucks

Currently I'm using Windows Media Player for my videos. But I have a bunch of martial arts videos that I need to be played in slow-motion so I can see the exact moves but WMP doesn't allow them to be played in slow motion. What other programs can do this?

why not just buy Adobe Premier or After Effects and do a frame by frame. or at least download the demo.

This is just a shot in the dark but maybe he doesn't just, "go buy Adobe Premier" because it's $600.

What kind of videos? If it's mpg, most soft dvd players have slow motion. WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc.

It sucks because it was made by Microsoft and you dont have to pay for it.

Can you used PowerDVD for video even if you dont have a DVD player?
