Video Playback Looks Washed Out

spacejamz

Lifer

running DFI ULTRA II board with FX5500 vid card.

Prior to the install, video playback was fine. After the frest install last week, video playback (media player, power DVD, etc on DVD movies, mpeg files, etc) all look washed out...

I have done several fresh installs on this box in the past 2 years and have never had this problem. After XP was installed, I loaded the newest nvidia nforce 2 drivers (5.10) and then loaded the 77.72 drivers for the video card. I then installed Media player 10 and Power DVD.

everything else looks fine...wonder if using the newest drivers are causing my problem...

anyone else have any ideas?

Didn't realize it was a gamma issue...(actually, I am not really sure what gamma means or what it does)...

I just reinstalled the 66.93 drivers for now to resolve this problem which did the trick...

thanks.
