Video out and sound....best options?

I'm looking to purchase a new video card with tv/out. My question is, if I run the tv/out to my bedroom tv, is there a "one cable" resolution to getting the sound there too? Will a coaxial cable output send sound as well? Or must I send the sound via the sound card in all cases? I'm not a huge gamer, so I don't think I need a super high-end card, does anyone have any experience with the RADEON VE dual monitor tv/out card? Your comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

http://www.svideotorca.com/svideocoax.html

anyone interested in doing the same thing check out thelink. it uses the s video, and the r and l audio inputs to transmitt it all over coax to your tv switch....one for that, and one for cable or satellite. It's all tolled about $35 bucks at radio shack. or a little more at the link.

good luck

That's a pretty neat little contraption. 50 bucks is kinda steep, but if it does what you need. The radeon VE has good tv out, and unless you want a beast of a gaming card has perfectly acceptable 3d performance for the price.

Wouldn't it be simpler to get a y adapter to go from (sound card) 1/8 stereo jack to two rca, then use your svideo to rca connector(comes with almost all retail cards and some oem) and run your a/v cable to your tv? I know it would cost a lot less. So it would be one splitter 3 bucks at Radio shack, and whatever size a/v cable you needed. Or that svideo, 1/8 stereo to 3 rcas would work too for about $25 for a 24 foot.

Hell you could throw in a splitter to connect your speakers and your tv sound to your sound card at the same time and still come out at about half the cost.

Not only are you going to lose quality going throw your converters, you are going to lose quality by hooking coax up also.

And yes every thing I have seen you have to run sound from your sound card.
