Video on CD-ROM - doing it right...

Curious about people's opinions and discussion on this topic. A few things to consider:

1) Able to be viewed on ANY computer - there's a few we have to throw out, but let's assume bare minimum is a CD-ROM, and perhaps a Pentium2 or better, in an OS of Win95 or higher.

2) Not too much compression or if any at all - should at least look decent, but doesn't have to be bigger than say 320x240 or 640x480

3) Should have a menu of some kind. Not HTML since you can't get rid of buttons, etc in the first instance of a browser window.

4) Should not require the user to install software or copy files. The menu should just load from an autorun, or the CD would come with instructions on how to start the video (goto your cd-rom, doubleclick clickme.exe, etc).

I think with all of these things in mind, I would lean towards Director. No? Discuss...
