Yes, sensation is better. If both do it, then it is completely different feeling than the normal.

But a lesson learned for all guys: do not shave your ass. Wax if you must. No matter if she is drop dead gorgeous and you've had one too many gin and tonics. Wearing pants and sitting in a warm office during the next couple of weeks after being shaved is a type of hell I do not want to go through ever again.
