goddammit... why did I play the video after having read that they shot the dogs? I didn't need to hear that.

I would guess that they expected the house to be a major distributor or something. I don't think that the police have used the SWAT team (or done anything) if they knew what it actually was.

Then WTF are they doing if they don't know what it is they are going after?

I'm glad I read the thread first. I don't think I want to watch it now.

It's not as bad as you think, you hear a dog whining and a couple of gunshots in the background and then silence. Still :( though. The guy doesn't even realize his dog was shot until the end of the video.

The official statement is that the corgi was hit when they missed the aggressive pit bull. What is scarier, SWAT member missing his target or SWAT member deliberately shooting a corgi? I can't decide.

Not to mention the half or so dozen shots for a pitbull.

I'd say a SWAT member missing his target when there is a 7 year old child in the house...

Funny that pot smoke was I guess endangering the child ...but those bullets flying all over were definitely not any sort of endangerment to the child's welfare. Nope. Not at all.

Obviously the dogs were threatening the police. The residents of the house should feel lucky that they are only being charged with a misdemeanor and not several counts of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. They should also be glad they were not shot and killed themselves.

Everyone knows this.

There is a thread about this in P&N - if you really want to rage the fuck out, go over there and see some of the idiots defending the cops on this one.

Where do we as meager civilians begin to put an end to this shit? It's only going to get worse as time goes on. There's zero excuse for this happening, this could have been carried out with two officers knocking on the door and putting the guy in cuffs. Now the poor kid(s) are probably freaked the fuck out for no good reason. Where does justice come into play in terms of handing this kind of power to officers? Where does this power get restricted or taken away, is it even possible once it's been granted? I'm sure 9/10 busts go well and get real junk taken off the streets, but what happened in that video isn't forgivable in the least.
