Woah that is freaking awesome. What are the odds of being able to see that. Being on the plane at the right place at the right time AND getting a window seat on the proper side of the plane. I also did not know there would be any air traffic that close to a launch. I mean, it's probably not a stone throw away, but relatively speaking it's pretty close. Pretty cool.

Would be so awesome to see a launch in person though. Have to go to Russia to see that now. :p

Every shuttle launch had planes like this.

"those of you on the right side of the aircraft you can see the space shuttle taking off! for those of you on the left side, well, you can see people on the right side watching the space shuttle taking off." Thanks cap

That is one thing I do miss a lot. Watching the shuttle launches, especially the night ones. Man at night it would light up the entire sky and glow orange and I live a good hour away from KSC. On clear nights you could see the solid rocket boosters actually separate and fall from it as well.

The booster ride is cool. I love the image of the shuttle and tank leaving the boosters behind when the booster first separate.

I'm sorry but this doesn't seem all that special to me. Just because an airliner full of people saw it, which opened the window of dumbshits on YT to comment on it, does not make special the fact that craft leave earth's gravity quite frequently. I mean, one of those comments says they are in tears, seriously? There is so much junk in NEO to drive home the fact that space launches are pretty damn common. I could understand being awed by this if you refute science to the point that you question evolution, but to me it would merely be business as usual.

I still thank you for posting it OP, kind of neat to see people wowed by simple things.

the most interesting and smartest man in the world is not impressed by your sad excuse for space travel.

Oh this is an organized flight? I thought this was just a passenger plane that happened to by flying by. Still really cool, and bet it would be expensive to be on.

No the link you posted is a passenger plane, but they have chase planes that watch the launch to give multiple angles for several reasons.
