I have a generic 19" monitor that has been working great for the past couple years, until this morning that is. I was playing games last night without any problem, but when I went on it to check my email this morning the screen looks like garbage.
Specifically it seems to be having problems with the horizontal focus. The colors and everyhting seem ok, but they seem to blend across the screen... whites wash things out and dark colors make dark bands. I rebooted, and even left both the PC and monitor unplugged all day today in the hopes it was a minor glitch which would self correct. No such luck.
I am going to try one of the other monitors on my PC just to ensure it is a monitor problem rather then a video card one, but by the looks of things I feel safe in saying it is a monitor issue.
Any advice on potential resolutions?

If anyone reads this I have determined my monitor is not the problem. I pluged in a second monitor and have the exact same problem with it as well, so I guess it is my video card. I will check to see if it is set in correctly later. guess it is time to consider an upgrade maybe
