Video lagging during playback

Whenever I watch a video stream the video lags every 15 seconds or so, but not the audio. It even happens on .gifs

It happens on youtube, TBS.com, ESPN3.com etc. Always the same issue. It happens even if a video is already finished downloading.

My specs are:
e2180 @ 2.5ghz
Gigabyte P35 motherboard
sapphire 5770 w/latest catalyst drivers
4gb gskill memory
USB speakers / headphones
fresh copy of win7 64bit
wireless internet connection
Crucial c300 SSD

Do I just need to upgrade my proccessor? I don't think this was an issue until recently, so I don't know what could have changed.

bring up task manager and see if the cpu is topping out... i have a 2180@3.2 and it has no problem with any video with a 5550 512...

When my HDD was going out recently the first signs were lagging videos. Perhaps run some HDD diagnostics just to make sure thats not the problem. Also trying some differnt vid drivers is never a bad idea.

from watching the Task Manager, I do not see the CPU usage is maxing out

I have a brand new SSD, but this issue was happening before the SSD also.

try some older graphics drivers. I found 10.5 to be very stable when i had my 4890.

i changed some settings in firefox and that fixed the problem!
