Isn't that console supposed to have a 2500+ and a 40 GB HD in it? Jeez, I would've taken those. How wasteful.

Kyle is really opinionated about stuff like that. He will go balls out and say/do whatever he wants to make a point. He sued Phantom Labs before they sued him for no real good legal reason. ....Let him release his anger :)

That's pathetic... maybe if he was destroying dozens or hundreds of them, but people going wild over one?

Isn't Kyle 30+ years old? I really can't believe he acts out this way. Poor representation for the DIY PC community. Can you imagine Anand, or Scott Wasson behaving like this? Immature if you ask me. IMHO.

All I can say is what a loser.

Seriously, what does he think he's symbolizing?

To me, that is just epitomizing the stuckup prickish nature of some PC gamers.

Yep, the phantom should fail with no help from Kyle. I surmise he knows this and just wants to position himself to take the lion's share of the credit for it when it does flop. Then he can plaster it all over his site about how he led the crusade against the POS.

I'm using my backup computer with no audio so I could only imagine what he was saying, which, in my mind, was something like a backstage rant at a WWE event where a pro wrestler waxes poetic about bouncing around a ring with another wrestler.

I have to admit, upon the unveiling of the Norse hammer, knowing what a geekfest that was, numerous D&D jokes sprang to mind. Still, most of the attendees at Quakecon are requisite pc enthusiasts so they probably follow review sites and know about the spat between HardOCP and IL. So this was more of a light-hearted inside joke kind of comic relief than a calculated maneuver or childish tantrum, I think. The humor really is in imagining your sister or mother-in-law watching that going, "I don't get it.", then you can smirk and feel all elitist.

I believe it was a combo of all three :) venting, having a joke@IL's expense, and positioning himself as "the dragon slayer" if you will.

what a fricking dweeb, he reminds me of those fat old bastards who would go to bbs parties back in the day to try to score with, well, fat young chicks...by impressing them with his sysop powers...

he needs a good ass kicking.

probably all a desperate stunt to get traffic to his crappy site so he can get more advertising money...

Thats not true - Phantom were frequently threatening to sue him, and he excercised his right to call their bluff. OK, thats an over-simplification, but its the gist of it.
