I just built a new computer. And everything was working ok until I installed my video card drivers. Now it crashs everytime I play a game. Half-Life2 and Doom 3 crash when ever I start a map. Half-Life 1 crashs after a little bit of playing. I searched through these forums a bit and found Mem Tester ran it and found 1 of my ram sticks had an error so I took it out but that did not solve the problem.
Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
MSI K8T Neo MS-6702
512 Kingston RAM (Used to be 1 gig)
ATI Radeon 9600 XT
I have tried the official ATI drivers, the Omega Drivers, and the drivers that my autoupdate for my motherboard tells me to get. All with the same problem of making my montior turn off with the light being orange.
The Ati control panel with the offical drivers has an event viewer. I got this after trying Doom 3. New This may or may not be related because I haven't been able to reproduce this error msg
