Video issues, please help!

Ok so I'm in the middle of playing world of warcraft. All of a sudden my screen is filled with million of little rows of different colors. I was able to alt-tab out of wow and go back into windows and I got a glimpse of a message stating that my driver could not contact my card. Then it went back to the millions of colors, I shut down my pc and try again. Now I can't even get into the os, the colors are there. I can't see anything. Sometimes my pc shuts down by itself now too. I went out and tried a different video card. Same results. Anyone have any ideas?
 
Did you do any overclocking to the video card or your CPU? Did you recently update your BIOS? Did you recently update your video card drivers?
 
have you tried a different power supply, ive never heard of a problem like that caused by a power supply but that would be my next guess
