video is blank and black

Running an 8800gts 320mb with vista 64. Have the latest drivers. I believe it did this with 32 bit as well, and I changed some settings in the nvidia control panel. What can I do?

Problem is video is playing as a black screen. Games work fine though.

What kind of video are you talking about? HD or simple DVDs? Might be a codec problem.

If you are trying to play HD-DVD on WMP, the encoder does not support.
If its a normal dvd then try un-installing the drivers --> cleanup the registry and reinstalling it..

You can also check the signal HD format with nv control panel

It is just a regular AVI file. Nothing HD, just regular video.

Do you have the latest DivX installed?

Uninstall any third party codecs, like Ace Mega codecs pack and reinstall DivX. I guess that should be some kind of codecs conflict in your PC.

I had same issue a while back when i installed a custom version of vista, its definatly a codec issue, attempt to update your codes as mentioned earlier.
