Everything was working fine until I turned my machine on last night. I could see the boot initialization and hear XP Pro start up but no video. I rebooted into safe mode with video working fine. This is an old home built AMD machine that?s been limping along for a while. I checked all connections and its getting power. Ive had some wireless compatability problems with my DSL Westell modem and Linksys router but I don?t see how that would affect the video. It does have an old 19? Hatachi CRT monitor that?s been working flawlessly. I did put the case in a purpose bult cubby hole in my desk but the temperatures look fine in CMOS and all the fans are clean and working. The DVD is fine along with keyboard and mouse functions.

I would appreciate any help on where to look next.

PLEASE!

Go into safe mode and uninstall the video card drivers.

Remove them from your system (delete the files so it can't auto-reinstall on boot up).

Reboot.

I bet you get video in normal windows now. Download and install up-to-date drivers.

You could also change the resolution and refresh rate in safe mode to ones you know will work with your monitor.
