what are some opinions here as to what the best tuner card, OR all-in-one card is?
And/or...somewhere that has reviews of severeal of these types of cards?

My dad is looking for a TV tuner and capture card with a TV image as good as the ATI AIW...but without the ATI driver hassles. The all-in-one Matrox G450 looks nice (and compared to the AIW's driver issues, might just be worth the extra cash), but no reviews give it the attention the Radeon AIW, so I can't find anything of its quality. Also, I can't seem to find dedicated tuner round-ups, like Avermedia and Happauge(sp!) cards.

TIA

I have an Avermedia 98TVFM card. Works great in 98SE and XP, wasn't too pleased with it in 2000.
The software it comes with works pretty good, I capture with it and use TMPGEnc to encode.
Works real well with Virtualdub also. I downloaded the latest drivers from their website and all is well.
Picked my card up off the F/S board here for 30 or 40 bucks(don't remember), glad i got it instead of investing in an AIW type of card.

Check this FAQ out, they have some good info. A/V FAQ
