VIDEO help

Doom Machine

i have clips of a video game made using fraps, when recording the frame rate drops to like 12 fps and it shows in the video.

i wanted to know if possible how i could make the clip appear to run smoothly using a video editor
i have powerdirector 3 and virtuadub but will try something else if needed.

I have a method that you may not have available (I use Avid Liquid), but maybe with PowerDirector?

I use a linear timewarp (change clip speeds) and apply either a progressive filter to it at 100% (no change in speed) OR same thing with 100% speed and detect movement/motion tracking set as agressive. I have been able to smooth 15fps 640x480 movies from still cameras. The trick is motion tracking, converting to progressive or some other filter in the time slow/speed up, but set a no change to speed.

is there a trial for avid? powerdirectro lets me change speed but dont think i can convert it to progressive ..i think i can with virtuadub
so increase speed, convert to progressive? ...dont understand the set no change to speed, perhaps only on avid is that an option

Liquid does have a trial, but it has to be ordered (no download) and has some components left out.

Vegas and Premiere may also do it, but don't know about a trial for them either.

Full versions of all of these are about $500. Studio 10 may do it, but I cannot vouch for it (S10 is based on Liquid - but still needs a little more bug fixing).
