There has been lots of bloodshed between the Chechen fighters and the Russian military, and civilians also get targeted on both sides. You have to understand that the Chechens have for so long been fighting the brutal and ruthless Russian military, which has a big advantage in terms of equipment, resources and manpower. The Chechens, and others who are at a disadvantage around the world, have resorted to taking actions such as this. They look for opportunities to strike the enemy. They don't necessarily care if its a helicopter or tank.

You have to look at both sides here. I can't really blame the Chechens for attacking the Russian military since the Russians have been brutalizing Chechens, both combatants and civilians. But I think that the school attack was wrong.

America has done worse things and so has Russia but I'm not saying that this was horrible.

I think its the fact that the Chechens are perceived as terrorists that lead people to only blame them sometimes. Look at the whole picture.

Atomic-bombing 2 cities of civilians, which may have had schools in them?

I will grant that circumstances were different, and yes, it very likely prevented a ground invasion.......even so, the thought of wiping out so many people, civilians too, not soldiers, just like that, well, it just isn't much fun to think about.

Well we have killed thousands of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. The Russians have killed countless Chechens. We have to look at the whole picture. Of course, what the Chechens did was absolutely horrible and there are no words to describe this sort of madness.
