Video Hacking a Notebook Panel

I have two notebooks that were given to me DEAD. Both have had some serious MB problem that is too costly to repair. One is a Sony 505FX with a nice 10 inch panel. I want to attempt to hack this panel into my homebuilt computer as a second display. I'm looking for some help on how to power and interface the panel to the computer through a standard PCI video card (I have a couple laying around). If I can succeed with this one, I'll go for the Dell Inspiron, but I have to determine if this panel even works because this computer is completely fried. :Q
