Is it possible to play a video on one monitor, while playing a game full screen on another monitor at the same time?

When the game goes full screen, the video's screen goes black... (though the sound continues, and it runs smoothly so it doesn't seem to be a performance problem).

The game is probably forcing the computer to operate with just 1 monitor and thus a video cannot be played while the game is running.

I would agree with AMDSKIP here. I've run multiple monitors and they just go black when the game starts up. (Some games don't even run with multiple monitors turned on BTW) I would be willing to bet that multiple video cards (not SLI'ed) would probably work out that solution. But I don't know for sure. Games tend to be pretty heavy on a CPU/ GPU.

Another option, and I don't know how you would do this, would be to run the game within a window, within windows, thus allowing you to continue to function in windows. (Just an idea)

Well, see, the thing is that my other monitor is still visible during this time. When I said "the screen goes black," I meant meant the video window.

If, say, I have Winamp loaded while I'm playing a game, I can browse through the song list (via hotkeys) and it shifts through my songs (I can see the cursor moving through the list) without interrupting the game.

It depends on the type of game you r playing and like Xsorovan said, you have to play it in a Windows box. Some games have mods to let you do it.

Maybe you could play the game in windowed mode, just set the window to be the size of your monitor (if possible) and play the video on the second monitor.
