video from laptop to tv

This is my first post so I hope this works. I have a laptop that has a LCD/TV key on the keyboard. I would like to be able to view by laptop display on the tv. I have a monitor out port. Is there any way to get the display to TV? What is the cheapest way. THanks for any help

If your laptop has a composite video (RCA-type jack) or s-video (DIN-type jack) all you need is the proper cable to connect it to the appropriate input on your TV.

If your laptop doesn't have either of those connections, then you need an external scan converter, which connects to the VGA port and converts it to video. Plan on spending at least $100 for that. But the bright side is that a scan converter will work with any computer.
