Nuff said. Just ban them or at least warn them. I've had enough of AnandTech members flaming each other in the Video forum. That's the reason why I've practically stopped visiting AnandTech forums.

I'm thinking that's the most courteous thread to have ever been complained about in PFI.

this is mainly for those that claim a cpu bottleneck is silly.

CoD4 is pretty CPU limited - Duh =P

NONE of you guys have a CLUE how the OP's system will run with a 4890
- none of you are comparing anything remotely to HIS system

i have tested this also. Not everyone gives a CRAP about frame rates at the minimum going up if they are OK now

FACT: the OP will have MUCH more AA/AF available and will be able to max details - at about the same frame rates WHEN his CPU bottlenecks

yeah neither one of us where being all that rude. apoppin has been acting like an towards me so I have almost as rude to him in return but thats it. funny how people smart of and act passive aggresive and then when somebody responds back rudely they run to the mods.

I have never seen an aggressive driver in a Toyota.

On ATF, IMO toyota is aggressive on a fairly consistent basis. I have never had a problem with ArchAngel777. If he's the same person that tried to convert apoppin to Christianity on another forum then I think he's a pretty cool guy with lots of patience.

That's just apoppin's way of posting. I truly think he doesn't intend to insult or be condescending to anyone, but he does sometimes come off that way. When I first joined AT I had a couple forum discussions where we disagreed and I got so annoyed because I thought he was making fun of me. After awhile I figured out that that's just apoppin

well maybe sometimes. lol. I am very sarcastic but I am like that in real life too. I can easily come across as a jerk when really I am not even trying to be. in an argument I do get pretty snippy when I am pointing out something and it gets dismissed or I get a really bad attitude from someone else. video card sub forums seem to be the main place this happens for most tech sites. its just the nature of the topics I guess.

The threads that get into the heated discussions are the most action that sub-forum gets in between product releases......

Not sure why people want to stifle it, unless it gets into pure name-calling, etc.

Now, where is the thread? Has it been deleted? If so, then that's two threads in as many days now that have been either locked or deleted in the Video forum. I understand that there is a need to moderate the forum, but it has reached a point where the moderation is becoming more disruptive than the trolls. We can ignore the trolls, but when our discussions are constantly kiboshed like this, it gets frustrating.

You linked to a page 2 or something like that. Some of us regulars have our posts-per-page set to 100, meaning that there IS no page 2 for us and your link doesn't work. Good rule of thumb is to always link to the first page for that reason.

I've seen lots of threads get derailed and people arguing with each other for what I consider to be stupid reasons.

This is your problem. As long as the arguments are on topic, that is, related to video, they can argue for the dumbest reasons in the world and it's allowed. Your judgment on what is or is not a stupid reason is not enough cause for a mod to warn, much less lock or ban.
