i have an AVI DixV file that i need to hard-encode with subtitles so that i can burn it in nero.

The problem is this: The Audio is VBR and causes sync issues in VirtualDub.

does anyone know how i can re-encode the audio and just the audio to CBR without touching the video?

TIA.

or if anyone know of a better way to hard-encode subtitles into a movie, i would appreciate it very much.

in Vdub try setting audio to copy stream and then try encoding.
or try to rip the audio file (using vDub) and then transcode it in besweet and then mux it.
