How do you transfer say video from a miniDV to a computer like an Apple? Do you need a video capture card or is that what the firewire port is for? It just transfers the raw footage straight to your hard drive?
 
Yup, use the firewire port. If you've got anymore questions, PM me. I'm pretty knowledgeable as I plan to go into this field.

I wish you could see some of the stuff I really put effort into. Too bad it all got deleted through various reformats and stuff. I've got a movie I'm possibly going to help my friend make as well as a documentary I really want to make this summer though, so you guys in the Vent room may just get some sneak peeks. 😉

Speaking of which, you should go into Vent sometime when I'm in there dammit.
