Video Editing software

Basically Im really new to the whole video business. So what I want to do (as a hobby) is take maybe some videos in games and add music to them etc... Make clips of a bunch of different things and tie them together with music and stuff like that. Or maybe add my own voices to them kinda like the RedvsBlue.com thing. Anyone have any idea what kind of software I would need for this?
