And we are to believe you both paid for vegas.... circa $500? hmmmm.. :)

For a more realistic option try TMPG DVD Author (TDA) its dead easy to use/cheap/fast and is just about the 'standard' in home DVD authoring.

DVDLab is also another option.

Read this page:

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=2#2

and LOOK at the amount of views/comments/scores on the right and make your own mind up.

By the way isn't Vegas for editing...or does it author as well...(I wouldnt know as I aint got that sort of money)?

I believe Vegas is for editing... and DVD Architect is for authoring.

I think it's funny that the original poster asked for best AND easiest :) Does that solution even exist?

I'm using a P4 1.5 with 512 and I edit videos and burn DVDs with Pinnacle Studio. It works just fine.

i just recently tried Ulead Movie factory 3.... it worked great for both editing and authuring.

mostly just basic editing for me though. like taking commercials out of a tv program, allowed me to put 4 45min epasodes to a dvd complete with a menu...

its not too spendy and they have a 30 day free trail at Ulead.com

I'm gonna wait until the end of the month and the Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Premiere Elements combo from Amazon.com. Premiere elements offers some basic authoring options, which is enough for me.

I use Adobe Premire 6 for video editing and Nero 6 for authoring and buring.
