Video Editing Software Recommendations?

I've been using windows movie maker for videos and it is just not cutting it... any recommendations for a good video editing software? Thanks in advance!
 
im told sony vegas is pretty good for home use. although i've only messed with window movie maker and thats good enough so far
 
I used movie maker for a couple years and really liked it. It tried Adobe Premiere Elements and HATED it. Very buggy for me, although that was I think version 9. A year ago I got Sony Vegas Studio HD Platinum Suite 11 and I LOVE it.

I would download the demo for Vegas that and try it out.
 
Try Adobe Premiere Element. It is lite version of Powerful Premiere Pro for less than 100.00 if money is not an issues.
 
I'm partial to AviSynth, which is free, but I'm a programmer. If you don't like scripting it's not for you.
