Video editing and DVD software

I've been attempting to create something coherent on G4's with Final Cut Pro and iDVD the past week and after a half dozen attempts to get various formats that work fine in a PC environment to keep MAC from complaining I'm about ready to do whatever it takes to get solid Video editing software and DVD software on my PC and finish my work from here.

Does anyone know of any good DVD creation and Video editing software?
