Video edit and DVD software

Looking for help with what you all would recommend software wise to edit video off a HD camcorder then burn the final cut(s) to DVD for playback. The more noob friendly the better. Will be used mainly for summer trips with the kids on vacations, holidays, etc. I don't need Lucas Film quality for my needs and for what I'm doing. Any suggestions, advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
