I recently bought a EAH4870 DK/HTDI/1GD5 and before I installed it, I wanted to make sure that I used the right drivers.
Up until this point, I've almost always used the chipset manufacturer's drivers because they always have the latest version out. For example, the driver on AMD is version 9.2 (updated 2/20/09) and the driver on Asus is 8.561 (updated 2/16/09).
So my main question is, is there any reason why someone would install the driver from the card manufacturer? If the card is not a reference design (which I think this card isn't), would the card manufacturer's drivers be better? Also, does it play better with the other tools that the card manufacturer provide (Gamer OSD, Smart Doctor)?
Thanks for any info you can give me.
