Last Saturday I went to bed as usual with my desktop PC running as usual. I wake up in the morning and move my mouse, the screen flickers on it, then flickers off. I think to myself....hmm...I can press buttons and move the buttons and hear all the normal sounds.

So I turn off my computer and restart it up. At the PC start up, my BIOS splash screen flashes and then the screen goes blank, but my PC is still booting up. And I even logged into my computer hearing the trademark login sound.

I figure my gfx card is messed up or fried or something, but i open my case, and it seems to have power to it still, and i can feel the fan spinning. I notice my computer is dusty, i didnt have any compressed air cans so i went to the store bought some came back, unplugged my gfx card, dusted it off, and dusted off the rest of my case inside and out. Put everything back in and it starts.

Now today, I come home from school and the same thing happens. I open the case again and it does seem kind of warm. So I'm guessing my Video Card is overheating because everything else in my computer is running fine. The video card fan still is running, and i've done nothing to my computer since i put it together two years.

My monitor works perfectly, I tested it on another PC but i dont have another PC with a PCIe slot.

Also, while I have my computer on. And while everything is running the screen is still black.

If I turn off my monitor, then turn it back on, the screen flashes with a picture for .2 seconds, then goes black again.

What do you mean by a picture shows for 2 seconds then goes back black?
You mean it flashes then turns to black?

Try to unplug all the IDE cables from the mainboard with only graphic and RAMs on.
See if you can hear any beeping sound or noise.

If you have a board manual, reset to default then boot up.

Try to turn the monitor power without plugging it into anything.
If you see a letter on your monitor screen, then monitor is fine.

Remove the dust from your graphic card fan as well!
