video corruption beginning at boot

Hi. I just wanted to say thank you ahead of time to all the readers and repliers to this post.

Right from boot, artifacts, lines, blurring, whatever you want to call it occurs. I've tried two different monitors, one being a CRT and the other an LCD, but neither one solved the problem.

I recently just upgraded my processor, ram, case, and added a VGA cooloer to my 9800 Pro. (I will post my computer's specs at the end of the post.) Everything worked pretty good for a few days. But starting last night, the video problem seems to be getting progessively worse. Right from boot up, blurring everywhere to point where it's hard to travel through BIOS.

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Sounds like video card, or video cable. Are you cranking up the voltage on your 9800 pro?

I had a very similar problem when i first started building my own computers, and I had abit mobo and fried a geforce 256 ddr. Don't know if its the same problem as yours but it sounds that way.

One more thing, are you sure that your hs is still firmly mounted to your gpu?

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

After reading what you said, I checked and swaped video cards with my roommate. Looks my video card took a dive.

Fortunately, I bought the card on September 8th last year. A few weeks before the warranty expires is a better time than any for it to go bad. =) Thanks again.
