Hello, this problem may occur as soon as 5 minutes after starting the computer or it may take up to several hours of the computer being on. It seems to be completely random as to when it occurs. In the blink of an eye colors will become corrupted and pixels will start glowing across the screen. Almost as if some noise/interference is being picked up. If I turn off, then turn back on the LCD, or disconnect and reconnect the video cable, the problem clears up, but will eventually happen again, maybe not for several days. It NEVER happens during gameplay, only in the Windows desktop, particularly when web browsing.
I am connecting via DVI cable, but this problem also has happened once over Analog. I tried a $100 Monster DVI cable but the problem still happens. The LCD is fairly new and still under warranty. Before I assume the LCD is bad, I want to eliminate all other possibilities.
Here are my system specs (might give someone a clue as to what could be wrong):
Asus P4C-800E Deluxe (BIOS 1018 - AGP Apature set to 128MB)
1GB Kingston Dual Channel PC3200 DDR
ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128MB
ViewSonic VP201b
350W Antec SmartBlue Power
Windows XP SP2
Can anyone think of what the problem might be or anything else I can try before RMA'ing the LCD? Perhaps try a different videocard?
