Video corruption at 1600x1200

I've had this problem with my 7900GT PCIE since I got it, including across a replacement of my motherboard/processor/RAM. If I run games at 1600x1200, every now and then the screen will go wonky. I will just show video noise - flickering colors and lines and so forth. This isn't mixed into the image, it is the whole screen. Alt-tabbing out and back in fixes it. It only happens at 1600x1200 (which is the highest I normally run games.)

It happens with different sets of drivers and different games. It happens at any refresh rate (and my monitor more than supports that resolution.) There isn't a single thing, other than resolution, that seems to cause it. I don't have the card overclocked, and I have good ventilation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Videocard: eVGA 7900GT 256MB
Processor: Intel Pentium D 925 Presler 3.0GHz
Mainboard: ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForc
Memory: DDR2 800, 2GB
Soundcard: Creative Audigy 2

What is the monitor? I am guessing it is the game defaulting to messed up refresh rates

Just an FYI, I just spent an evening logging temperatures, and it never breaks 50 degrees, even under heavy load. I've tried more drivers and settings now - even lower resolutions - and am getting the same result. Every hour or two, the screen goes nuts. Alt-tabbing fixes it instantly (although it crashes the game half the time.)
