I've been using the trial version of ******* and am mostly happy with it. Should I just get the full version for $35 or is there better software for that purpose. TIA for any advice.
I use Handbrake for my video converting, not the most user friendly, but if you know a bit about computers it's not too hard to set up a profile. Can't comment on it's speed compared to other programs, and it does crash on mine once in awhile. But it's free. I also cannot offer a comparison to ******* as I've never used that one.
Hah, that looks like something to try out. I like open source, though $35 isn't bad. Took about 1.5 hours to convert a 3 hour movie. Glad I recently upgraded my PC. I think they block the name of the software I was talking about as it could be used to pirate DVDs.

Well, I don't want to circumvent the filter (even though I'm not advocating anything illegal) but it begins with Pav. If you really gotta know I'll PM it. I was kinda surprised it was filtered, but when I looked it up I saw that the same company makes software for converting BluRays to easily torrent-able files so I guess that's why (though it's a different package than what I'm using).
